The Legend of Jacoba's tunnel is set around 1800. Widow Ans Loosjes lives in Gouda with her three children and is at risk of being evicted from her home. Her late husband once discovered the tunnel of Countess Jacoba, where a golden treasure is said to be hidden. He left clues in his manuscript. If you can decipher them, there may still be a chance to find the treasure and help Ans and her children.
During the search, you explore Gouda’s city centre independently. The app leads you through the story and takes you past places including De Waag, the town hall, Sint-Janskerk, the gardens of the Willem Vroesenhuis and windmill ’t Slot. At these locations, you solve riddles and puzzles together, often using details in your surroundings. Every solution brings you closer to the hidden treasure and reveals another side of Gouda along the way.
