The Escape of Kenau is set in Haarlem in 1573, shortly after the city has surrendered to Spanish troops following a long siege. Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer must escape Haarlem. A general is offering residents a place on his ship in exchange for payment. Your mission is to collect the money she needs and discover where the ship is before time runs out.
The app draws you into the story as you make your own way through Haarlem. Along the route, you pass places including the Amsterdamse Poort, the Spaarne, De Waag and Sint-Bavokerk, with riddles and puzzles waiting at different locations. To help Kenau, you need to work together and pay close attention to the city around you. Every solution takes you a step closer to the money and the ship, while the story brings Haarlem’s history to life around you.
